Abstract

Weekly Zoom interview #48 is with Linda Britt, a recently retired Spanish professor at the University of Maine at Farmington. After teaching a course about the Spanish Inquisition, she got the idea to write a one-woman play about Margaret Chase Smith. “Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington” grew into more than she expected and had quite a long run, with Sally Jones bringing Senator Smith to life on stages all across Maine. It’s still available for production if any theater companies are interested.
